Your Itinerary for Spending 24 Hours on The Gold Coast

If you are already planning to head over to Australia next season, Gold Coast is a must visit in your trip. Gold Coast is undoubtedly the premier holiday destination of Australia which is always abuzz with activities and holds enough attractions to keep you busy for weeks.

From the pristine beaches, theme parks, or the waterways to the shopping destinations, hinterland, or the nightlife, there’s so much to explore in just one trip. But, if you do not have ore than 48 hours to spend on the Gold Coast, we are here to help you with this short getaway.

But do you have an visa for visiting Australia? It’s an Electronic Travel Authority without which you are not authorized to enter the country as a foreign resident. All you need is to apply for it online and it gets electronically linked to your passport.

Once you have secured the ETA Australia (if you are an American or Canadian citizen) or eVisitor (if you are a European citizen), it’s time you go through the itinerary for those fun filled 24 hours on the Gold Coast.

Breakfast

Morning is the time when you must satiate yourself with a sumptuous breakfast. If it’s an apartment or a property you are staying at, that has a kitchen attached, you can happily cook your breakfast and save a few bucks for the trip.

But, if you want to savour the breakfast outside, one of the many alfresco cafes can be a great idea. You can choose from the long list of cafes with best scenic experience that includes, Miami, Kirra, Broadbeach, Coolangatta or Burleigh Heads.

Take a walk

Taking a 30 minutes-walk or a quick bike ride along the sea shores of the Gold Coast on the nexus of pathways that stretches upto 4kms is a good way to start your day with. You can also take a stroll along the pathways across the Burleigh heads National Park which can offer an exciting walk.

Beach time

You are at the Gold Coast and so, there’s no way that you can miss the beach. Get some sunshine and sand along the famous beaches of the coast. Whether you choose to swim or surf, have fun with the sand, or simply relax on the beachfront grass below the series of pine trees, make sure that you have your hats and sunglasses on. Don’t forget to slather a generous amount of sunblock, your swimmers and a towel for that beach soak.

Rainbow Bay, Broadbeach, Currumbin Creek, Burleigh Heads and Coolangatta are some of the favourite beaches at the Gold Coast for family fun.

Lunch

There are several surf livesaving clubs along the coast that make for aa perfect lunch spot for families. Kids can have fun with kid’s activity packs offered at these lunch joints. Main Beach, Kurrawa, or Greenmount are among some of the favourite surf clubs.

Afternoon

If you have kids along, visiting the Currumbian Wildlife Sanctuary is a great idea to experience the Aussie wildlife. From cuddling a koala to feeding kangaroos or even lorikeets, there is a lot that you and your kids can explore.
Alternatively, you can also experience the tropical Queensland which is at the Mt. Tamborine. It’s a 40-minute drive from the Gold Coast.
Simply enjoy the different water activities including jet ski rides, spot migrate humpbacks on a whale, or take a luxury cruise on the Broadwater.

Evening

This is the perfect time to experience the local food and time for some entertainment. Relish the street food, listen to the live music, or savour that boutique wine or craft beer at the Marketta on Fridays and Saturdays. 24 hours is indeed a short time to explore a beautiful place like the Gold Coast, but when on a short trip, this itinerary should help you get the most of this fantastic location.
